Green homes provide ‘a better quality of life’
Environmentally-friendly homes that limit the amount of carbon material used in both construction and everyday usage provide owners with a better quality of life, one sustainable building firm has said.
Ecos Homes has said that many such properties now cost the same as a more conventional home in many areas, and added the homes represented a good property investment because they were developed with the future in mind.
Reneweable technologies and an absence of artificial lighting also made such homes more attractive to owners, the firm added.
“[The design is] about putting in enough renewable technology within a building to provide the energy required for use in the building,” commented an Ecos Homes spokesperson.
“The home is designed to get maximum light, so you reduce the use of artificial lighting. Generally it’s a better quality of life if you live in an eco home.
“Most eco homes will try to be built within existing infrastructure, including shops and transportation to the local communities,” the spokesperson added.
